Joshua and Tiffany Hill are high school sweethearts who have always shared the dream of raising a family on horse property. Through the years they have endured many triumphs, but also great loss. Their two oldest sons were born with a primary immune deficiency called Hyper IgM Syndrome. Before the age of one, both boys underwent intense chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants. Our oldest son, Oliver’s transplant was considered successful. He is considered cured, despite a lifetime of follow-up appointments. Liam’ s transplant went well, but he contracted a fungal infection while inpatient. Sadly, his life ended at only 13 months of age. Heartbroken and shattered, they still chose to endure years of IVF to grow their family. Eventually twins, Elijah and Lily, completed their family.
Combining their love for horses, and dedication to their family, Hayden Acres was born. A place where families and individuals can come together with horses to heal and find hope. Joshua and Tiffany named Hayden Acres as a tribute to Liam’s memory, as his middle name was Hayden. Many of their personal horses are, in fact, on their own path of healing. They are rescues that have come from kill pens, abuse, or neglect. The horses have come to them malnourished, emaciated, scarred, and terrified of humans. After a few short months with the Hill’s, the horses are happy and showing drastic improvements in health.
Joshua is a Mason and a Shriner (Shriner’s hospitals for Children), and an active member of the Shrine’s Mounted Patrol. He rides their rescued draft horses in parades all over the state of Arizona. He is an electrician by trade, horseback riding instructor, horse boarding manager, barn projects manager, and still finds time to be an outstanding father and husband.
Tiffany serves on the board for the Hyper IgM Foundation and volunteers her time to help the foundation with various projects. She is a licensed Real Estate agent, horseback riding instructor, horse boarding manager, and manages all the behind the scenes work at Hayden Acres.
