Riding Instructors

I developed a strong passion for horses at a young age while growing up in Atlanta, Georgia. Early in my riding career, I had the opportunity to explore many different disciplines with several remarkable trainers, but I eventually began competing in both English and Western on AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association) circuits. By the time I was in high school, I discovered my love for jumping and competed on my school’s IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association) Hunt Seat Equitation team—where I even served as team captain!

After many years of competing on my own horses and for my school team, I wanted to share my love for the equestrian sport with others and began training riders of all ages and skill levels. In 2022, I moved to Arizona with my family to attend Arizona State University and soon found my new home at Hayden Acres. 

With over 10 years of experience in the equestrian world, I’m so excited to continue helping riders grow and fall in love with the sport just as I did!

Hello, my name is Scout Magill and I have been a riding instructor here at Hayden Acres  for the pst few years, with a passion for helping young and older riders grow, both in and out of the saddle. I have 15+ years experience to offer-from barrels, cow work, training from the ground up and more. 

I believe in challenging folks to step up, work hard, and respect the horses they ride. I know that learning isn't always easy, but with a little grit and determination, you not only become better riders, you can discover your own strengths and perseverance.

I’ve been riding horses since I was two years old and have been training my own horses for the past five years. I’ve competed in Arizona Junior Rodeo and Arizona High School Rodeo, and have placed in many open races, winning several events. My experience spans multiple rodeo disciplines, and I’ve competed in some of the biggest barrel races across the state. With a strong foundation and a love for horsemanship, I’m confident teaching riders from beginner to intermediate and advanced levels.”

Hi, my name is Braydee Gilbert. I’m 18 years old and a freshman in college. My life is centered on my faith in God, and Sundays at church truly fill my cup. I’ve always loved learning and finished high school with a 4.0 GPA. Horses are one of my greatest passions, and I enjoy riding, teaching, and caring for them. Ive riden horses since I was about 5, and have really enjoyed teaching lessons to students the past year or so.

 Music is another big part of who I am—I play clarinet, guitar, and love to sing. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, surrounded by God’s creation. At home, I’m the oldest of three with two younger brothers, and I help care for our two dogs and ten chickens.
